HISTORY

This text should review the current state of 1609 and the upcoming goals in a super clear and concise way.  Allow people to know exactly what is going on with the project in one quick read.

Satisfy historic guidelines set out by the Historic District.  This house was a multi-family unit and is being remodeled to suite a single-family unit.  We bought this home on contract for $60 dollars.  The goal is to bring the exterior condition back to its historic character.  We have divided up the scope of work into five phases. 

Phase I: We are starting at the foundation that requires digging all around the home to add a concrete footing.  We will save the bricks that we can and reuse. 

Phase II:  Opening up the porch to create a wrap around porch.  To install two exterior wood doors. and three wood windows.

 

Phase III:  Remove all of the exterior vinyl siding.  Depending on what underneath we are wanting to keep the existing siding if all is bad we plan to replace all with new hardi board. 

Phase IV:  Remove all vinyl windows to be replaced with wood. 

Phase V:  Remove the rear portion of the gable roof to build a new hip roof.  This would be towards the east end of the home.
